GPT Researcher: Open-Source Deep Research Agent
Hacubu · x · 2026-07-18
This post highlights GPT Researcher: an open-source deep research implementation based on deepagents, which has garnered nearly 30,000 stars and been adopted by LangChain.
It follows a "plan → parallel retrieval → review → publish" workflow, but transforms many previously hardcoded graph components into naturally emergent capabilities within the harness, such as planning, delegation, and context management.
The author also shares comparative results: after integrating GPT Researcher with tavily web search, verified citations increased roughly 2x, and it won 7 out of 10 tasks on the Deep Research Bench.
