The AI Era Philosophical Dilemma: Freedom or Freefall?

The author argues that the greatest philosophical deception of the AI era is mistaking the "disappearance of constraints" for the "arrival of freedom." The various limitations past generations complained about actually acted as the "scaffolding" supporting human society. When AI instantly provides countless life choices and strips away traditional ethical frameworks and contexts of scarcity, humanity isn't truly liberated; instead, we fall into a freefall, having lost our center of gravity. Facing this vacuum where old scripts have collapsed and a new order has yet to be established, humanity urgently needs to find new ways to construct meaning.
