There is a deep academic connection between Yang Zhilin, founder of Moonshot AI (Kimi), and Tang Jie, founder of Zhipu AI (GLM). Before heading to CMU for graduate studies, Yang completed his undergraduate studies at Tsinghua University, where Tang Jie was his academic advisor.
