Anthropic Sparks Controversy by Adjusting Claude Limits
op7418 · x · 2026-07-18
Anthropic announced that Claude 3.5 Sonnet (jokingly referred to in tweets as Fable 5) will be permanently integrated into the Max and Team Premium plans with a 50% usage limit. The author points out that a promotional campaign from May to July had previously increased weekly limits by 50%. With the promo ending on the 19th, both the model availability and total limits will face a roughly 50% reduction. This move is seen as an adjustment forced by competitive pressure from OpenAI, Kimi K3, and others.
