AI Agents Will Reshape Workflows: The Future is Automation
Seanfrank · x · 2026-07-18
While hiring, the author noticed a massive timeline gap in AI adoption: about half still treat AI merely as a search engine, a small fraction have integrated it fully into their lives, and a tiny group has started using agents to automate everything, while the general public is still talking about burning down data centers.
Agents will replace Web app interfaces
The author predicts that within two years, desktop browsers will become clunky and unnecessary. Just as local software was replaced by cloud web apps, current web apps will devolve into a "database layer" accessed solely by agents. Users will no longer need to manually log into Notion to organize notes, filter emails, or create shared docs; agents will handle all of this.
This shift will impact organizations as profoundly as the birth of the internet, even though 95% of people currently think it sounds like pure science fiction.
