Codex Desktop Local Network Permissions Repeatedly Fail
Specter_Origin · reddit · 2026-07-19
A user reports that the Codex desktop app breaks on macOS "almost every other update": local network permissions cause a No Route to Host error when connecting via local SSH, and even when fixed, the issue quickly recurs.
The post also notes that the app auto-updates on restart. Even if users don't manually upgrade, the update triggers automatically, restarting the problem. Therefore, the author is asking if there is a way to permanently block auto-updates.
