Claude Gets One-Click Gmail MCP Install
Arty-McLabin · reddit · 2026-07-18
The author introduces a Gmail MCP designed for Claude: it can now be installed with a single command and is officially published as an npm package, on the official MCP Registry, and via Smithery.
It supports sending, reading, and searching emails, alongside attachments, threads, label/filter management, and batch operations. It also offers a browser OAuth flow and configurable permissions, including read-only access. The service runs locally via stdio, ensuring that Gmail credentials never leave the host machine. The author adds that they have been maintaining this fork since February of this year for daily email processing within Claude Code, and that community PRs are subject to security reviews.
