Anthropic Tightens Claude Fable 5 Subscription Limits
The Decoder · rss · 2026-07-18
According to The Decoder, Anthropic will include Claude Fable 5 into its Max and Team Premium plans starting July 20, but will only grant 50% of the standard usage limits. Furthermore, the standard limits themselves will also be reduced by a third on the same day.
For Pro users, Anthropic will only provide a one-time $100 credit, after which usage will be billed at API prices. The article suggests that this shift—moving from "originally removing Fable from subscriptions" to "keeping it but significantly tightening limits"—is likely a response to the competitive pressure from OpenAI's more affordable GPT-5.6 Sol.
