The Dilemma of the AGI Return on Investment
zetalyrae · x · 2026-07-18
The author argues that a future featuring "on-demand intelligence like Fable" might not yield sufficient returns on "superintelligence AGI," despite massive investments. If the former is achieved and the latter remains hard to monetize, it could actually be a better outcome.
However, striking this balance is tricky. Figuring out how to provide powerful intelligence without pushing the capital return logic to depend entirely on "human-surpassing AGI" remains a highly challenging problem.
