According to Bloomberg, Google is delaying the release of Gemini 3.5 Pro because the team wants to further refine its coding capabilities.
The report also mentions that Google attempted to adjust the training data for Gemini in late June, but suboptimal results led to a reset in the development pace. Meanwhile, the integration of internal AI coding tools is ongoing, and engineers are facing compute/capacity limitations. Additionally, an upgraded Flash model is currently being tested.
