On-Device iPhone App Converts Video to Stop-Motion
measure_plan · x · 2026-07-18
A developer has built an iOS app that converts videos into stop-motion animations, with the beta now open.
In terms of features, it can automatically transform a scene into stop-motion in about a minute:
- Automatically extracts key frames and edits them into an animation
- Uses Roboflow RF-DETR and custom code to filter out unstable frames and accidental hand appearances
- All processing is done entirely on-device on the iPhone
The creator notes this is an early version that will see further improvements and invites users to apply for beta access.
