Open-Source IDE Cate for Agent Orchestration

Cate is an MIT-licensed open-source desktop IDE built around an infinite canvas to organize development workflows, replacing the traditional setup of juggling multiple tabs for editors, terminals, browsers, and docs.
Designed for agentic development, it offers:
- Support for terminal-based agents like Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode.
- The ability to run multiple approaches in parallel using isolated Git worktrees, allowing users to validate before merging, opening a PR, or discarding.
- A cate CLI that empowers agents to control browser panels, read accessibility snapshots, take screenshots, open files, and manage panels.
- Support for remote SSH workspaces.
- An extension system for integrating custom panels, MCPs, and dev tools.
The project is completely free and open-source; users simply plug in their own model providers or existing agent subscriptions.
