Testing Inkling's OCR on Lab Reports
MaziyarPanahi · x · 2026-07-17
The author tested Thinking Machines' Inkling on a Mac Studio by first having it read 23 values from a photo of a lab report, followed by three consecutive questions.
Results showed it not only performed OCR but also reasoned based on the extracted metrics. It identified the most critical issue as hyperkalemia combined with kidney failure and advised against a contrast-enhanced CT for the next day (given the patient is on metformin), citing the risk of lactic acidosis at the current eGFR level.
