Aionic Labs has announced its establishment and secured backing from Germany's SPRIN-D Next Frontier AI program.
They are building Time-Series Language Models (TSLMs): combining sensor/time-series data with language capabilities so models can understand these signals, reason about what happens next, and provide actionable advice in natural language. Highlighted application scenarios include:
- Healthcare: Helping clinicians determine when to intervene.
- Manufacturing: Spotting anomalies before machines break down or production lines stop.
- Industrial O&M: Determining which alerts warrant action.
They also mentioned that Europe has advantages in research, talent, and industrial data, making it an ideal place to build a frontier AI company in this direction.
