Netflix currently has about 300 production projects utilizing AI, primarily concentrated in post-production.
Co-CEO Ted Sarandos disclosed a specific case: the documentary The American Experiment features 17 minutes of AI-assisted visuals, doubling the production speed and halving the costs. Netflix believes these saved budgets will likely be reinvested into producing more content, rather than shrinking the annual $20 billion content budget.
