Ask About Fix Difficulty Before Taking Action
samuelcolvin · x · 2026-07-17
The author increasingly uses a specific prompting strategy: instead of directly saying "fix it," they first ask "how hard is this to fix?"
This approach has two benefits:
- It helps determine if the model truly understands the problem and knows how to fix it.
- If proceeding with the fix, the model will use this assessment to provide a smaller, actionable micro-plan.
