Ramp on Cutting AI Costs via Spend Transparency
johncoogan · x · 2026-07-17
Ramp CEO **Eric Glyman** states that one of the easiest ways to reduce AI costs is to make everyone's **AI spending visible**. He argues that most people don't overspend intentionally, but rather because they **can't see how many tokens they are actually using**. By making usage and costs transparent to employees, it acts like a credit card statement reminder, prompting more conscious efforts to cut unnecessary consumption. "Just tell them once that it's an unauthorized expense, and overspending will drop."
