Linus: Fork Linux If You Disagree
mattrickard · x · 2026-07-17
Linus Torvalds stated that Linux is not an "anti-AI" project; if anyone has a problem with that, they are free to take the open-source route and fork it.
The core message here is straightforward: open-source projects shouldn't isolate themselves over an anti-AI stance. Those who truly disagree can simply fork the codebase and start their own branch.
