NotebookLM has been officially renamed Gemini Notebook. The team clarified that the app itself isn't going away; its features and mission remain unchanged. The name update better reflects its position within the Google AI product lineup.
Reflecting on the past three years, the team noted the evolution from a "small experiment" to help users learn faster into a research assistant supporting audio, video, and interactivity. It has already been integrated into the Gemini App and will eventually expand into Google Search. The team also teased upcoming features like folders.
