X Updates Creator Revenue Policy: Cracks Down on Spam and Scraping
dreamwieber · x · 2026-07-17
X has updated its Creator Ads Revenue Sharing program policies to combat spam and protect original content:
- Cracking down on engagement bait: "follow-for-follow" and similar engagement-baiting tactics are banned. Three violations will result in removal from the program and account suspension. Grok will be used to automatically detect such behavior, and nearly 4,000 accounts have already been purged today.
- Upgrading scraping detection: A new model triples the detection rate for duplicated content, preventing users from stealing content from other platforms and passing it off as original.
