BrainCo Unveils Non-Invasive BCI Control for Humanoid Robots

Hangzhou-based BrainCo has demonstrated a new platform integrating non-invasive Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI), humanoid robots, and AI. By wearing an EEG cap that takes about 10 minutes to set up, users can directly control a robot's mechanical arm using their thoughts to perform daily tasks like pouring water and grabbing fruit.
The system supports two control methods:
- Motor Imagery: Users imagine specific movements, and the system decodes the brainwaves into robot commands in real time.
- SSVEP (Steady-State Visual Evoked Potential): Users focus on different flickering visual stimuli to trigger a broader range of commands, enabling more flexible control.
This technology eliminates the need for surgical implants, bringing massive convenience and improved daily life to individuals with mobility impairments.
