A new study explores the factors that determine the memorability of stimuli. It reveals that the representation strength of stimuli within Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) effectively predicts how memorable images and words are.
Stimuli that activate more features and trigger stronger responses leave deeper memory traces in the brain.
