Weaviate announced that its managed service Managed Weaviate is now in public preview on DigitalOcean.
DigitalOcean handles underlying operations, including:
- Resource provisioning and security
- Automated daily backups
- Patches and version upgrades
- High availability and automatic storage scaling
- Point-in-time cluster forks
- Performance insights and logs in the console
It runs the unmodified open-source Weaviate engine v1.37.1 at launch, compatible with existing Python, JS/TS, Java, and Cclients. The company emphasizes easier, faster creation of vector database clusters without managing Kubernetes or VMs.
