Turso Announces Rewriting Postgres in Rust

Turso announced that it is rewriting Postgres using Rust, aiming to build the "LLVM" of the database world. Previously, Turso successfully rewrote SQLite within a year, maintaining compatibility while adding features like MVCC, typing, and materialized views. During the SQLite rewrite, the team realized that a database's core features are dictated by its underlying architecture, prompting them to apply this reconstruction approach to Postgres.
