OpenMicro: Control Coding Agents With a Gamepad

MachineLearner00 · reddit · 2026-07-16

The author open-sourced OpenMicro: connecting Codex Micro's controls to a gamepad with support for different coding harnesses.

The goal is straightforward: let users control AI coding agents without a keyboard, interacting via off-the-shelf controllers. Tested on Claude Code, it can be installed via npm i -g openmicro and launched with openmicro claude; the author also provides openmicro doctor for controller authentication and welcomes contributions for more harness support like Pi, Kiro, and Antigravity CLI. The project is MIT licensed and available on GitHub.
