DeepMind Proposes Frontier AI Standards Body

Hassabis proposed that the US lead the creation of a "Frontier AI Standards Institution," modeled after FINRA to enforce industry self-regulation and standardized governance.
The proposal emphasizes a public-private partnership: the board would consist of independent tech experts and open-source representatives, primarily funded by the industry to attract top talent and support massive testing compute.
