Anthropic Sparks Controversy at EU Hearing

EU officials expressed dissatisfaction after Anthropic sent a newly hired technical employee to an AI safety hearing instead of dispatching Sarah Heck, their VP of Public Policy, as requested.
The post also notes that the employee appeared to be reading from a script during the video call, seemingly reciting AI-generated responses. When pressed with questions, the employee joked about Claude and ultimately disappeared from the screen before the committee chair could even thank them.
