ChatGPT Windows App Exposes Driver Loading Bug
bdsqlsz · x · 2026-07-16
Users reported a severe bug in the ChatGPT Windows client. Even without connecting a Codex Micro device, the application forcibly loads its bundled native driver.
This causes an error when serialport.node lazily imports napimoduleregister, because ChatGPT.exe does not export that symbol. The relevant symbol is actually located in chrome.dll.
