AI Should Be Open Source and Funded by Default

A Twosigma founder argues that governments, corporations, and non-profits should proactively fund open source AI.
He also believes any AI project backed by public funds should be open source by default. His primary concern is that failing to do so could allow the future infrastructure of knowledge and capabilities to be quietly monopolized by a handful of companies.
