Iterating on Game Prototypes with AI Prompts

The author shares an AI-driven iteration workflow from concept to playable prototype. Starting with initial prompts to generate concept art, they continuously refine the setting, have the model write the first vertical slice, and then iteratively polish the final product.
Although initial results were "terrible," persistent prompting gradually introduced 2D monster sprites, more trees, brighter colors, better combat feedback, retro pixel shaders, a skybox, and parallax backgrounds until the game felt just right. The core philosophy is simple: "prompt it, play it, prompt it, until it feels good."
