UC Berkeley Professor Aditya announced he is joining Snowflake part-time to lead research at the intersection of AI and data.
According to Snowflake executives, Aditya and his team have long been exploring how modern AI is reshaping data systems, with representative projects including DocETL for unstructured data processing. Additionally, they are reimagining the underlying database architecture tailored for AI agents rather than human users. Snowflake previously acquired Ponder, a company founded by Aditya, in October 2023.
