LLMPeek: Inspect Local LLM Calls
Apart-Tour4915 · reddit · 2026-07-15
The author shared an open-source tool called LLMPeek, designed to monitor application calls to LLMs in real-time during development.
Features
- Captures requests with a single import in Node projects.
- Supports any client (Python, Go, curl, etc.) via a local proxy mode.
- The local dashboard displays prompts, tool calls, streaming outputs, tokens, latency, and costs for every request.
- Compatible with OpenAI, Anthropic, and OpenAI API-compatible services.
- Requires no accounts, cloud setup, or extra configuration; all data remains on the local machine.
Usage
- Install and import llmpeek directly in Node projects.
- For other languages, start the local proxy and intercept requests via environment variables.
- The proxy only decrypts known LLM hosts, forwarding all other HTTPS traffic untouched.
