Walden Robotics Raises $300M

Walden Robotics has stepped out of stealth mode with a $300 million funding round and an $1.1 billion valuation, instantly becoming the newest robotics unicorn.

Incubated by a team from the Toyota robotics research lab, the startup was co-founded by MIT professor Russ Tedrake. The round was led by Deviation Capital and Toyota, with participation from NVIDIA, Boeing, Samsung Ventures, and CoreWeave Ventures.

Crucially, this isn't just a concept:

The founder also notes that the challenges in this space extend beyond technology to include business models, unit economics, and the integration of manufacturing and logistics.
