Peter Diamandis says he has heard for five years that "China cannot compete in AI," but Reuters now reports that cheap Chinese models match Anthropic and OpenAI on US benchmarks, and are free. He won't underestimate American entrepreneurship, but he also won't underestimate the competitiveness of "1.4 billion engineers + 25-year planning." Conclusion: The AI abundance race is global, and we must act accordingly.
