Claude Begins Controlling Real Robots

Anthropic released research demonstrating Claude's ability to control quadruped robots, robotic arms, and a real Unitree Go2. While direct joint control often fails, Claude can complete real navigation and manipulation tasks when acting as a high-level supervisor or utilizing pose/orientation tools.

The core conclusion: a general-purpose chat model without specialized robotics training can already guide a quadruped through a maze or move a plate from a counter to a stove. The authors note that the reliability gap is narrowing with each new model generation.
