Using MCP to Let Models Control Blender
RealJamesOfficial · reddit · 2026-07-15
Upon opening Blender for the first time, the author had GPT 5.6 Sol write prompts via the browser. These instructions were then fed into Cursor to configure Blender MCP and execute them, ultimately rendering a floating MacBook product image.
The highlight isn't the final render, but the workflow itself. The model autonomously decided artistic directions, including camera angles, lighting, and shadows. Through this collaborative back-and-forth, the author also incidentally learned the basics of Blender.
