Debunking AI Data Center Energy Panic: Uses Less Water Than Offices

In response to New York State's suspension of large data center construction due to environmental concerns, the author argues that the current panic surrounding AI data centers is overblown. They point out that most data centers consume water at levels comparable to or even less than typical large office buildings. Furthermore, by investing in new power infrastructure, data centers actually help lower overall electricity costs. The author believes that the prevailing fears regarding AI computing facilities will eventually be proven wrong.
