George Sivulka argues that humans are generally cheaper than tokens, but in scaled scenarios, high-quality tokens are actually cheaper.
His empirical data shows that in a median enterprise, agent costs are about $80/hour, close to a software engineer's rate. However, extremes vary wildly—costs can drop to $4/hour if managed well, or soar to $7,000/hour if handled poorly.
