ChatGPT Helps Para-Cyclist Advance to Elite Levels
OpenAINewsroom · x · 2026-07-15
The OpenAI Newsroom featured the story of Vishal, an Indian para-cyclist who lost a leg at age six but remained dedicated to the sport. Lacking access to professional coaches, he turned to ChatGPT to assist with his training.
ChatGPT was utilized for specific tasks:
- Developing training plans
- Optimizing nutrition and recovery
- Finding ideas to improve his cycling prosthesis design
After only a year of competition, Vishal qualified for the elite level and now has the opportunity to represent India at the 2026 Asian Paralympic Road Cycling Championships (Saudi Arabia) and the Paracycling Road World Cup (Thailand).
