Andreessen: Roles Will Evolve into Builders

Marc Andreessen of a16z believes AI is pushing the traditionally distinct Silicon Valley roles of programmers, product managers, and designers toward a more fluid 'builder' role.

He describes this as a 'three-way Mexican standoff': programmers feel AI can already handle PM and design tasks, while PMs and designers equally believe AI empowers them to replace the other two. He concludes that these jobs won't disappear, but their definitions will shift toward a hybrid 'builder' role.
