The Verge AI · rss · 2026-07-15
According to The Verge, citing Bloomberg, OpenAI might unveil its first hardware device this year: a smart speaker that lets users converse directly with ChatGPT.
Reports indicate the device might lack a screen but will be equipped with cameras and additional sensors to perceive its environment. It may also feature a rechargeable battery for portability and include smart home control capabilities. This news comes right after OpenAI responded to Apple's lawsuit regarding "stolen hardware secrets," stating they have found "no evidence to support the claims" in the complaint.
