This is a 10-step roadmap for building AI agents from scratch, covering the entire pipeline from prompting to evaluation.
Key points include defining the agent's role and goals first, then constraining inputs and outputs using Pydantic AI / JSON Schema; unifying protocols via MCP, Prompt Tuning, etc.; enhancing reasoning and action capabilities by introducing ReAct, tool calling, retrieval, and code execution; and orchestrating multi-agent collaboration with CrewAI / LangGraph / Google ADK when necessary.
The latter half also touches on memory mechanisms, voice/vision capabilities, structured delivery, UI/API packaging, and how to conduct evaluation and monitoring using logging, benchmarks, and feedback loops.
