LangSmith Unifies Coding Agent Tracing
BraceSproul · x · 2026-07-15
LangChain has developed a solution to standardize coding agent tracing, integrating sources like Cursor, Copilot, Pi, and OpenCode into LangSmith.
Key highlights include:
- Obtaining full session observability without the need for additional instrumentation;
- Using stable keys to identify, group, and query traces generated by different agents;
- Viewing the complete run tree: turns, model calls, tool calls, and sub-agents;
- Directly checking token usage and costs for each session.
The value of these updates is that debugging, evaluating, and analyzing costs across various coding agents is finally becoming easier to standardize.
