He pointed out that society's collective savings, pensions, and economic prosperity are already highly dependent on the monetization and implementation of AI technology. In response, tech industry commentators noted that to avoid this systemic risk, technical teams must achieve genuine intelligence breakthroughs (innovations on the level of inventing calculus or discovering the laws of gravity) within 12-18 months, emphasizing that for top hackers, this is the most exciting era.
