A developer shared an update regarding their Google Cloud billing dispute. A technical glitch in Google's billing system resulted in roughly 16,000 users being incorrectly charged. Although Google acknowledged the error and promised automatic refunds, the author has had over 3000 dollars wrongly deducted for 93 days, leading to bank overdrafts and additional fees.
Google customer service has repeatedly asked them to wait "3-5 business days," yet the issue remains unresolved. The author posted publicly to warn other developers about platform billing risks and is considering taking legal action to protect their rights.
