Adapter Launches Personal Cognitive Layer for AI
Prof_DavidBader · x · 2026-07-14
Adapter has emerged from stealth, positioning itself as a cognitive layer that adds "your world" context to AI.
Its core value proposition: while AI possesses broad general knowledge, it lacks understanding of personal or organizational contexts. Adapter fills this gap using a living knowledge graph, claiming to offer deeper context than large context windows at a lower operating cost. It ensures data sovereignty for users and does not use user data to train other models.
The project has been in development for three and a half years and has raised $17.8 million from firms including GV, Bond, and Hillspire.
