Study on Forecasting LLM's Educational Impact
paulnovosad · x · 2026-07-14
This post introduces a forecasting study: in February, researchers launched an experiment asking experts and superforecasters to predict the outcome of a randomized controlled trial focused on the impact of LLMs on novice molecular biology skills.
The study not only evaluated the forecasters' accuracy regarding the main RCT results but also tracked their performance on faster, cheaper signals to determine which early clues best reflect predictive ability.
