Sonnet 5 Feels Like a Downgrade for Non-Developers

A two-person B2B startup founder who has been using Claude as an "AI coworker" for marketing, copywriting, and strategy feels that Sonnet 5 + the new Cowork is a step backward for non-technical business users.
They highlighted three main issues:
- Poorer business communication: Compared to Sonnet 4.6, it is now more verbose and generic, forcing them to switch to Opus 4.7 for strategic tasks.
- Merged UI disrupts workflows: Combining agents and conversations into a single view adds 2–3 hours of weekly cleanup.
- Higher costs: Outputs are longer and consume more tokens, without delivering value for their specific use cases.
They believe Anthropic is clearly prioritizing developer scenarios and coding benchmarks over its "no-code agents" vision, prompting them to temporarily revert to previous tools for marketing and copywriting.
