AI Codes Physics Engine from Scratch in Under 10 Prompts
cloneofsimo · x · 2026-07-14
A developer showcased stunning AI coding capabilities: using fewer than 10 prompts, the model generated a complete physics engine similar to MuJoCo from scratch.
The engine features a gym-like API, is powered by C++, supports native headless rendering and Web rendering, and uses Python's native DSL instead of cumbersome XML for environment definition. Because it is built on wasm, it boasts excellent cross-platform compatibility. The author stated that while they make no claims of it surpassing MuJoCo, the fact that AI can generate such a legitimate and complete micro-physics engine is truly mind-blowing.
