Server CPU Supply Remains Tight

KeyBanc believes the outlook for general-purpose servers is improving, as AMD/INTC are squeezing out more wafer supply and ARM demand is also rising.
Key points include:
- General server unit growth expectations have been raised from +18.5% to +30%.
- x86 supply has slightly improved, but ARM is increasingly being used for agentic AI workloads, especially when AMD/INTC supply is tight.
- AMD secured additional wafers through TSMC N4, partly due to order cuts from MediaTek's reduced mobile shipments; its server CPU unit growth can support +15% to 20% this year.
- NVDA's Vera CPU production capacity has been raised to 2.5 million to 3 million units, an increase of 1.2 million to 1.5 million, to serve agentic AI demand.
- Demand for ARM-based server CPUs like AWS Graviton and Google Axion is also growing.
- Both AMD and INTC hope to push server CPU shipment growth to over 50% by 2027.
